PRE INSTRUCTIONS:
PRE INSTRUCTIONS:
*To better prepare you prior to the procedure, it is very important to adhere to the instructions below!
PLEASE READ!!! A RECENT CASE HAS RISEN IN THE PMU INDUSTRY THAT A CLIENT WHO RECEIVED A COVID VACCINATION PRIOR TO RECEIVING A NEW EYEBROW PROCEDURE AND HAD ALSO RECEIVED THE SECOND DOSE 3 DAYS AFTER POST PROCEDURE HAD CAUSED A BAD REACTION TO HER NEW COSMETIC TATTOO THAT VERY SAME DAY. SHE WAS INFORMED BY HER DOCTOR THAT SHE WAS IN FACT REACTING FROM THE COVID SHOT WHILE HER BROWS WERE HEALING. DUE TO THIS NEW FINDING AS A PREACAUTION, PLEASE INFORM YOUR TECHNICIAN PRIOR TO RECEIVING ANY COSMETIC TATTOO PROCEDURES IF YOU HAVE BEEN VACCINATED FOR COVID.
- If you become ill, please contact us asap to reschedule your appointment to avoid the risk of exposure to others. Your illness may also weaken your immunity as well and may hinder your healing process.
- Stay hydrated
- Avoid excessive consumption of any products containing caffeine and energy drinks within 24 hours. This may thin out your blood and may inhibit the anesthetics from functioning at its best. There is an exception that If you usually drink more than a cup of coffee daily, to prevent having caffeine withdrawal, you may have 1 cup of coffee followed by drinking lots of water after consumption allowing at least 3 hours prior to your procedure.
- Avoid consuming alcohol within 72 hours. Alcohol thins out the blood as well.
- Check with your doctor first but it's best to discontinue the use of any products/and or medications containing blood thinners 1 week prior to or at least a minimum of 72 hours. Herbal supplements and multi vitamins should also be discontinued just the same as to some of these contain natural blood thinners. This inhibits your blood clotting mechanism that increases bleeding during the procedure. It could potentially impact the healed results.
"IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT A CONSENT IS ACQUIRED FROM YOUR DOCTOR PRIOR TO DISCONTINUE USE OF ANY PRESCRIBED MEDICATIONS"
- For some, menstrual cycle may cause the body to react a bit more sensitive towards a procedure. If this is a concern, it may be best to schedule your procedure a week after your cycle is complete.
- If receiving an eyebrow procedure, its best to wax, thread or tweeze 48 hrs prior to or 1-2 weeks after your procedure.
- Any facial , laser treatments or peels may cause the skin to be very sensitive. It's best to allow the skin to recover first. If treatment has been received, be advised by your esthetician when it is best to receive your cosmetic tattoo procedure.
- If receiving botox, keep in mind that it will alter the shape of your forehead and natural brows. It may be best to receive your cosmetic tattoo procedure first then you may schedule your botox 2 -3 weeks after.
- If you are receiving an eyeliner procedure, eye contacts are required to be removed during the procedure so be prepared to have them stored away. Bring your prescribed glasses if necessary or a pair of shades. Your eyes may be sensitive to light and this will also help to protect your eyes while outdoors.
- Eyelashes & Eyebrow Tints and Eyelash Perm or Lash Lift are best done 1 week prior or 2 weeks after your permanent procedure to avoid potential reactions.
- If you currently have eyelash extensions, it's best to have them professionally removed prior to receiving an eyeliner procedure. The glue and extensions are a possible obstruction which may cause to pull on your natural lashes. You may reapply your extensions 3 weeks after but keep in mind that if you require a touch up which is best received in 6-8 weeks, you'll have to remove them again prior to.
- If you are currently using an eyelash or eyebrow enhancement serum, it's best to discontinue use at least a month prior to your procedure and you may resume using it again a month after you fully heal. There have been some cases where the serum was applied, it changed the condition of the skin. This can have a negative affect to how the skin respond to a procedure.
- Do not exposed your skin to indoor tanning or direct sun exposure prior to or immediately after your cosmetic tattoo procedure. If your skin burns, it's not in a state to be tattooed and your results will end poorly. It takes a good 6 to 8 weeks for the skin to heal so allow that much time prior to getting your procedure and best to wait up to 3 months to go indoor tanning after receiving your cosmetic tattoo procedure.
- It's best to have a clean face and free of makeup prior to coming in.
- You may bring in your makeup if you wish to closely match the color and it's helpful to see some eyebrow, eyeliner or lips selfies to get an idea of your ideal look. Some ladies may prefer to come in with their makeup already on to showcase the look they specifically want to achieve. Unfortunately we would have to cleanse the area first prior to tattooing to avoid the spread of bacteria but you are welcome to reapply your makeup after proper cleansing and we can then outline the shape you created and apply the anesthetic thereafter.
- If you are doing a lip blush procedure, its highly recommended to gently exfoliate your lips at least 5 days prior to your appointment. This will help remove the dead skin and expose your new skin for the procedure. If you don't have a lip exfoliator, lightly brushing your lips with your toothbrush should do the trick. Do not vigorously brush your lips or it will get irritated and cause the lips to be too sensitive to work on. If I find that the lip is in no condition to receive any trauma, you'll likely will be forced to reschedule your appointment.
- If you already have a lip filler or planning on getting one, it's best to have it done 4 weeks before you plan on receiving your lip blush procedure.
- This is of great importance if doing a lip procedure! If you have any history of cold sores or fever blisters, doing a lip procedure will aggravate the area and trigger a cold sore breakout during and/or after a procedure. This can lead you to a very painful healing and affect your healed results. Allot enough time to contact your doctor to obtain a preventative antiviral medication to prevent a outbreak.
POST INSTRUCTIONS:
POST INSTRUCTIONS:
Here are general instructions to properly care for your cosmetic tattoo. A copy of the Aftercare Instructions will be provided to you at your procedure appointment.
- Swelling, tenderness and bruising may occur and may last between 48 to 72 hours. Apply an ice pack every 10 to 15 minutes over the area with a damp paper towel or wet wipes as your barrier and while elevated for relief.
- Bodily Fluids (blood, plasma) normally oozes from the procedure site. Gently apply pressure blotting with a damp paper towel or wet wipes to avoid the build up of a thick crusty scab. Monitor throughout the day and repeat blotting. Once the ooze subside, you may stop blotting. Washing it gently using the tips of your fingers with a gentle soap (preferably antibacterial soap like dial) every day once in the morning and once before bed will help keep the area clean and free of bacteria.
- Do not expose the treated area to unclean hands, makeup, moisturizers, cleansers or creams, to prevent infection from occurring. Keep it clean, dry gently after washing and apply the choice of aftercare ointment as directed by your technician.
- Keep away from direct sun exposure, heavy workouts or activities to prevent from aggravating overactive oil glands and excessive sweating.
- No swimming, tanning, steam baths, saunas, direct shower sprays to avoid soaking the site.
- During the exfoliation period, you may experience some flaking of the scab, itching may occur. Do not pick, peel or scratch it! You can cause skin damage, scar tissues and lose pigmentation.
- Healing process may take up to 7 to 14 days. You may resume your normal activity after the exfoliation period is complete. It is highly recommended to apply SPF 15 or higher to protect your cosmetic tattoo thereafter.
- Final results cannot be determined until healing is complete which is expected around 4 to 6 weeks. A follow up procedure is highly recommended to make necessary adjustment to the healed results. This touch up is best carried out 6 to 8 weeks to ensure proper healing between appointments.
HEALING STAGES:
Each Permanent Makeup procedure may heal and react differently from each other. Here are the average day-to-day stages to give you an idea of what you may experience during your healing process.
EYEBROWS
EYEBROWS
Day 1 to 3 - You will experience some tenderness, swelling and maybe some redness surrounding the brow area. Color and width of eyebrows will appear about 50% darker and thicker. Bodily fluids (blood, lymph) may ooze over the first 2 days. The procedure site will start to dry out and form a hard scab thereafter. This is the start of exfoliation period.
Day 4 to 6 - The scab will begin to dry out, crack and lift in certain areas. Itching may occur. You'll notice pieces of scab falling off, this is normal. It will appear as if you've lost tremendous amount of color in that area, but remember, it's still healing. Let the exfoliation process take its natural course before judging how much color was lost.
Day 6 to 7 - Exfoliation process is usually complete at this time, for some, it may take up to 14 days. The scab should be completely peeled off and the appearance of what color is exposed at that time will still appear lighter and slightly reddish due to skin still undergoing healing. The dermal layer requires time heal. The true healed color will reveal itself in 4 to 6 weeks.
EYELINER
EYELINER
Day 1 to 3 - Immediately after the procedure, you will look as if you had cried excessively or have some bad allergies. Depending on the thickness of the liner and/or sensitivity of your skin, you will likely to be swollen for a period of 2 to 3 days, maybe longer for some. You may experience a burning sensation and tenderness. Your lids will feel heavy and your eyes may be red from constant tearing during the procedure. If you wear contact lenses, it may be best to allow the eyes to rest for a few days. The liner will look dramatically darker and thicker. You may also experience some oozing for the first couple of days which may cause your eyelashes to stick together. Gently rinse with lukewarm water or use a clean damp q-tip to clean the area.
Day 4 to 5 - The swelling and tenderness sensation should subside at this time. Itching sensation may occur. A hard scab has developed over the procedure site. Eye tissue may feel tight and somewhat drawn. Scabbing may start to shed. Exfoliation period begins.
Day 6 to 7 - Scab should be fully peeled off by this day or may prolong up to 14 days for some. The appearance of your eyeliner will look dramatically lighter and thinner. Allow the skin to reach its full healing term up to 4 to 6 weeks to see the end results.
LIPS
Day 1 to 3 - You will experience some discomfort for a period of days due to swelling, tenderness or bruising. The color will appear very bright and bold. Bodily fluids will ooze during this time so its vital that you blot away gently with a damp paper towel or with a gentle baby wipes. Avoid kissing and eating food or drinks that may irritate the lips such as anything that is heavily spicy, salty or citrusy. Keep lips clean and constantly moisturized with the provided aftercare cream.
Day 4-5 Dry flakey lips shows the beginning of your exfoliation process. You will experience tightness of the lips. Dryness will persist and lips will become chapped. Keep it moist at all times but do not use petroleum base like vaseline, antibiotic creams, polysporin, etc. DO NOT pick on the scabs.
Day 6-7 Once the scabbed flakes off, it will appear as though NO pigment has retained, this is the ghosting phase. But in the next 6-8 weeks, the color will gradually bloom to a lovely soft shade.
All cosmetic tattoo procedures may require a touch up to make necessary adjustment to the healed results. This is best carried out in 6 to 8 weeks.
